Be a Disciple of Discipline

I think a life without discipline just cannot deliver. In other words, you're dead without discipline. There's so much to life that it is only discipline - backed by passion for life - that can help one organize things and do justice to them. Next time some elder in your family gets stern because you're giving in to indiscipline, please think twice before retaliating. It may be a bitter pill, but without it, life cannot be experienced fully.

PS: Worst case, bring in some discipline into some dimensions of your life if not all!! Gosh, don't I sound like a dreadful teacher??!! ;-) Heheh

I would agree to your point, though i feel that someone be it an elder, teacher being angry with us is actually a fortunate thing. It shows that they care about us which translates to - "Someone cares for you".

Much better than so many orphaned people who yearn for such relationship. In that sense, we are much better and more fortunate. As long as we realize this, wisdom will prevail... :)

how true,prashanth!
but what a paradox....we often realize the value of something we have only when we don't have it....

it's not easy...umm...not easy....especially because or when you tend to have too many things on your plate and need to do justice to each entity...isn't that why some people complain about a day having only 24 hours? come to think of it....once discipline has taken something to its highest maturity levels, it becomes so much of a habit that you dont seem to have to be disciplined to continue doing it....?! discipline seems to be more in demand when you're talking about something you dont particularly enjoy doing or something that's new and involves learning, concentration and changing...

Ummm...too much of discipline....and one cannot live a relaxed life....sometimes we pay a price for it...These days Nimmy discipline is making me intolerant of the indisciplined ones. Also makes one feel its a waste if we don't achieve something with all our discpline and focus.

Any cures?

Angeli...you might have taken some of those words outta my mouth... ;-) really really agree with you that one gets intolerant (and subsequently avoided like the plague by those who are subjected to your intolerance) when one is a disciplinarian and expects others to be too...you can't seem to understand why others can't do some simple things on time and do it decently well....the cure, i presume, is to remind ourselves that we are not perfect in everything we do and we make the same mistakes that others may be making in some other areas of our life....and maybe constantly do some self-talking to cut down our expectations from others...??? what say?

and god, you really pointed out something valid....what's the point when the discipline isn't leveraged on to achieve something good? so, discipline with a worthwhile focus is what is more important! yes! :)
