Managing Relationships

The moment people manage it is not a relationship - I think so.

Hobo: Your comments are always interesting and provocative. :-)) Good for a discussion anytime! I agree with you that relationships cannot be "managed" the way one manages a job or a project. But in this particular case, take the term "manage" with a pinch of salt. Manage does not necessarily mean having a plan, deadline etc. Managing could simply mean how you respond to a situation rather than react to it. Managing could simply mean what you learn from the other person...it could simply mean how you change yourself to meet the needs of the situation. Some people may be lucky to get into a very convenient "made for each other" relationship but most of the time it boils down to adjusting, accomodating and understanding the other person...which in a way can be called "managing".
