Before and After
Just wondering. What would After Mint be referred to as if you happen to have it before your meal? Before After Mint or just Before Mint? Relax! And remember...it takes all sorts of people to make the world. ;) :P Heehehe
:) Your last line reminds me about a snippet of a poem that I remember from school .... All sorts of weather Taken in together Make up a year and a Sphere ....
Hey Hari!!!!!! :) Nice poem :) I don't remember reading it though...
And what a coincidence....I was just thinking that I should put up a post asking me people to pose questions on KM and give me some food for thought. I would love to attempt to answer your questions....right here, on my blog. Unless they are so specific that they can't be consumed by everyone...
I was too lazy to google for the actual poem... just did that. Here it is ... Reading it now, I think I like it
The mountain and the squirrel Had a quarrel, And the former called the latter "Little prig"; Bun replied, "You are doubtless very big; But all sorts of things and weather Must be taken in together, To make up a year And a sphere. And I think it no disgrace To occupy my place. If I'm not so large as you, You are not so small as I, And not so half as spry. I'll not deny you make A very pretty squirrel track; Talents differ; all is well and wisely put; If I cannot carry forests on my back; Neither can you crack a nut."
I am currently concerned with the 'technology' face of KM. I am working on the conceptualization of the parts that will make up the pieces of this technology puzzle. What systems do you think make up a good KM solution?
My view a. A decent content management system b. A decent document management system c. A good eLearning system d. An integrated search amongst all of the other systems e. A portal application to incorporate all of the above as one integrated system and give a 'seamless' interface to the end user. f. Probably a basic employee directory / corporate yellow pages sort of application.
From what I understand, most organizations will have some computerized way of managing projects and its artifacts. A KM system will have to consume this content... right? Ex. - Suppose a task has been assigned to some employee within a project management system. The employee has some questions and poses this on a discussion board attached to the task. The manager responds to these questions. All of this has to be 'searchable' from the KM system.
So my question is, how should the relationship between the KM system and the PM system be envisaged? Will the KM system consist of a full fledged PM system within it? (I think not).
hahahaha :D I am really really sorry, Hari! You've to believe me when I say that I logged in today to simply apologize to you for the delay. I am going through a phase that is leaving me with very little time for anything outside regular work. I shall be definitely answering your queries ASAP! :) In fact, going forward, I am hoping to have the opportunity to do more of this...! :) Please hold on! I will not dissapoint you in terms of taking a stab at your queries and lending as much assistance as possible...!
No problems at all. Take your time (but answer fast :)). Just for the background, I work for a startup and am looking into the feasibility of conjuring up a plethora of open source / commercial tools and building a KMS enabling system.
Thanks for that "where's you?" call! :) Yup...life is keeping me busy and away from my blog! sob! :( I'll put up an explanation for my absence from blogosphere for the past few days when the time's right for it! :) But I think I ought to be able to post something (nice or not so nice) over the weekend!! :)

Any of you remember this poem?
Nimmy,
If I were to ask you some questions on KM, would you answer these (free consultation... off course!!!)?
And what would be a good place to ask?
Hey Hari!!!!!! :)

Anything else you can add / remove?
