The 'Real' Success

The man is a success who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much;
who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children;
who has filled his niche and accomplished his task;
who leaves the world better than he found it,
whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul;
who never lacked appreciation of earth's beauty or failed to express it;
who looked for the best in others and gave the best he had.

- Robert Louis Stevenson

@Ashish: This is of course the pet peeve of every lady on earth! Why do poets only talk about 'men'? :-) How on earth does a woman know what to do? I hope women start writing poems! :-D

I got to see it finally, Mike! And it was lovely....Mother Nature in her best of forms and a soothing hum to go with it. :-) Thanks for sharing!

Can leave a world better than you found it? It is impossible considering the Newton's laws of motion and second law of thermodynamics. Of course Stevenson means without doing too much damage which somebody else would have done.

Hello Srikumar:

Yes, you can with the help of your fellows when you remember who and what you really are.

Take care,
Mike
